LEADING WITH INTEGRITY
Creating a Climate for Ethical Decision-Making
Reflection Paper 5 must be written about how Dr. Maier's research presented in class last week about the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster resonated with you in a professional context as it relates to our course content.
Students will write and present Reflection Papers for the purpose of which is to apply concepts from the readings to his/her experience, gain insight, and to explore course ideas. To make these assignments meaningful, students write about what matters to them.
Some possible ways for making these assignments meaningful to the students are shown below:
(1) One way is to describe how a concept (or concepts) you learned helped to better understand some aspect of your life. In this way, you describe how the concept fits with your experience.
Organization and Management (BUS-604-04) Syllabus: T. Butkiewicz, Ph.D. Page 3 of 10
(2) Another way is to describe how a concept (or concepts) you learned suggests new ways for you to act.
For example, after reading about effective ways to implement change, you write about how you plan to use those ideas to effectively implement a new performance appraisal system.
Agreement with the authors or your instructor is not essential. Furthermore, merely summarizing the readings is not at all adequate for critical thinking and scholarly writing at the graduate level.
Students may choose course content that was of most interest. For content selected, discuss the significant aspects from the course text, articles, case studies, or discussions. Following this 3 page paper (less cover and reference pages) in APA format, reflect on how to apply the concepts in your work environment. In contrast, discuss limitations of the concepts and/or theories to your work situation. Reflection
Papers must be on the template provided, and emailed to the instructor using Microsoft Word format. Three grade points can be earned for effective use of concepts and theories with application of APA format. In addition, students will orally present their Reflection Papers in class using an executive summary format to further enrich the learning environment.
P.s: Please choose a topic to write about and leave two spaces after every sentence.
