The dictionary definition of shy is "being reserved or having or showing nervousness or timidity in the company of other people." Create three different operational definitions of shy and provide a critique of each one.

Example: An operational definition of shy could be the number of new people that a person reports meeting in a given day.

Critique: What if an outgoing person has a job that requires them to meet very few people?

They may be considered (incorrectly) shy by this operational definition.
