Task 3 - Bogie modelling

1. In this task, you need to model a bogie (a basic component of freight wagons) in a multibody software package. The bogie model consists of three elements: one bogie frame and two wheelsets. Build this model taking all required geometrical, mass and inertia characteristics from Task 1.

2. Use spring damper parallel elements in your model to create the primary suspension between the bogie and the wheelsets. The characteristics of these elements are the following:
- 100000000 N/m for longitudinal and lateral stiffness;
- 5000000 N/m for vertical stiffness;
- 20000 Ns/m for longitudinal, lateral and vertical damping.

3. Define the initial velocity of the model to be equal 5 m/s and perform time integration (5 seconds only) on tangent track with measurements.

4. Check force element output values (8 elements of your choice) and the wagon speed in the post-processing.

5. Please add your personal reflections for this task. You are asked to identify critical learning events that have happened during the work on the task and to cover the following self-evaluation questions:
