Brush up your marketing
consider your- self a manufacturer of toothbrushes. Although your products have some special design features that you claim make for more effective brushing, your product category has been almost completely commoditized for many years. You want to figure out a way to differentiate your brand with a distinctive identity and voice. Post your project in this forum.
1. First, create “personas” for different types of consumers you might target. Create at least four different “personas” that specify the following:
a. Their particular characteristics or niche (for example, Francesca Fashionista; Dan Daddy; Ricky Retired)
b. Their biggest concern about oral hygiene and toothbrushes (for example, Francesca wants a brilliant white smile; Dan wants toothbrushes his kids will actually use; Ricky wants to avoid high dental bills)
c. The price sensitivities of each persona d. Other likely purchasing considerations for each persona
2. Discuss the types of advertising campaign you’d use to appeal to one or more of your personas— how you would try to position your brand, where and how you might advertise, and so on.
3. Come up with an ad tagline for at least one persona. Create a slogan that would appeal to one or more of your personas.
4. Present your marketing ideas, explain your reasons and why you think your ad campaign will be successful.
