Task 1

Description

As you continue to create your project planning documentation, you will reflect on the feedback for Task la, decide if you wish to improve it (i.e., Task la) and add a time management and risk management plan. Your interactions to complete

Task la will follow Task lb where you will collaborate with your project team and continue to individually complete your own draft project plan.

The assessment task lb will include:

1. Assessment Task la (revised if you wish)

2. Precedence Diagramming Method Diagram

3. Supporting information for the time management plan (critical path, lag and lead time, contingencies, estimating cost, etc.)

4. Top 5 Risks in a Matrix by category and impact (severity and likelihood) - one page

5. One-page suggestion of risk resolutions

6. A self-assessment of Assessment Task lb.

Task 2

Description

Select a project from your work/school/life and create a one-page project charter and a scope management plan. You will either self-select or be placed into a group which will act as your own project team and using this team you will consult and collaborate on what needs to go into your draft plan and then individually create and submit the charter and the scope management plan for your project. The one-page charter and the scope management plan will include the following:

1. Project statement - science related themed project

2. Intended Details - scope, timelines, risk, stakeholders, including team member roles, etc..

3. Check for completeness of project charter

4. Brief discussion on which model the project would use (i.e., Waterfall, Agile, V-shaped, spiral, etc...) or maybe none at all

5. A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) up to three levels

6. Check for completeness of WBS

7. Discussion on resources for the high-level tasks

8. Supporting information to define what is in scope and what is out of scope
