In my experience, a good manager brings out the best in me when they are able to teach, educate, and motivate me. When I feel a level of mutual respect for my superiors I am also inclined to be more motivated to create quality work that is a good representation of both of us. When there is respect, there is trust, which is indicated in the reading to create higher employee commitment. Another way managers can effectively bring out the best in their employees is by effective communication. Effective communication is just not how the manager communicates with their employees, but also the ability for them to be able to listen. Effective communication supports positive change in an organization, which will also motivate effectiveness in employees.

As mentioned above they would need to effectively communicate their expectations and support change in the organization through active listening. There will be a need to clearly define the change that is being desired, and develop a strategic plan to achieve the change. One of the leading reasons that things fail is due to a lack of planning. Once you develop the plan you will need to create implementation plan of who will help who. People oftentimes make the assumption that things will be successful if it is implemented by a group, but that is not accurate if not planned out well or communicated effectively. Once that happens you will have to d3temrine a level of measurability to track progress.
