Case Study/Background Info - Part 1
London's Day-Out is a small travel company that organise short tours for tourist visiting London. Besides offering visits to all the famous city's landmarks, the company also organises day trips to nearby towns like Bath, Cambridge, Oxford, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Stonehenge, and Cotswold Villages, etc.
Due to increasing demands over the last two years, Henri Randall, director of London's Day-Out has decided to build a web site to give online information to customers rather than current paper-based brochures.
As a step towards achieving this reality, Mr. Randall in one of his meetings with his staff states, "I would like to see our company stand as London's No.1 short-tour operator by the end of the year 2014. I give you free reign to implement your innovative ideas but I would like to see our web site launched by the end of March, 2014"

Apart from the above, Mr Randall also wants:
- Create a detailed description of each tour, its route and price to site visitors in an attractive style.
- A web page that gives contact information about London's Day-Out and an online contact form so potential customer can send enquiry directly to the school's administrator.
- Tour booking are currently being done through telephone, however, Mr. Randall believes that an online booking form can be developed to reduce heavy loads on the company's staff.
Deliverables
- Justify the usage of the various scripting languages used whilst you developed the website. (LO 3a)
- Review appropriate technologies to obtain the minimal functionality specified above by means of a complex set of linked interactive web pages. (LO 3b,c)

Case Study/Background Info - Part 3
Description of problem to be solved
Due to hosting requirements and security concerns, Mr Randall would like a suitable web server to be identified and the web site hosted through them. Also you will need to produce a security plan of how to manage the integrity of files on the server.
Deliverables
- Specify a suitable web server for hosting. (LO 4a)
- A security plan discussing on how you would manage, back-up and restore web site in future. (LO 4c)
- Through the contact us page, website visitors should be able to leave comments/queries/feedbacks which can either be emailed to the customer service assistant or saved in a database. (LO 4b)
- OPTIONAL: The visitors will be able to register themselves through an interactive form (Maybe through the Registration page). Their details will be stored in a database which will later be retrieved/used by London's Day-Out staff should the visitors like to book tours.
