Have you ever been stopped by a Peace Officer while driving? The experience of a traffic stop can be an incredibly stressful event for both the motorist and the Officer. There are competing interests while a traffic detention is occurring. The motorist wants to get on their way as soon as possible, preferably without receiving a citation. The Officer is concerned about their personal safety, enforcing traffic laws and keeping the roadways safe for all. These competing factors often create an adversarial experience between the Officer and the motorist.
