The Cold War lasted for 40 years, from 1945 until the late 1980's, from the period from when World War II ended to the collapse of the Berlin Wall. This long period of time will allow you a lot of different topics or ideas to draw from to complete your poem.

An acrostic is a poem in which the first letter of each line (or paragraph, or other recurring feature in the text) spells out a word or message.

Create an acrostic poem using the words COLD WAR. For example, for the letter "C", you will write a word or phrase from the span of years that encompassed the Cold War period that begins with the letter "C", and so on

In 2 to 3 sentences each, explain the meaning of the word or phrase you chose for each one of the letters of your poem. What does the word or phrase have to do with the Cold War? Each one of the meanings you provide for the word or phrases is worth 2 points for a total of 14 points = 28 points total for this assignment.
