Chapter 10 Multiplier Effect, Minimum Wage and Disposable Income
There are many policymakers and politicians that are advocating for increasing the Minimum wage in America as a way to stimulate the economy. While many worry of the negative effects this will have on small businesses and how it can disrupt labor markets. Keep in mind that the multiplier effect of increasing wages (income) for minimum wage workers and also that in a Microeconomic terms, minimum wage workers have higher Marginal Propensities to Consume (MPC) which means they spend more of every dollar they earn in income (this also means the multiplier is higher for this group).
In your own words, create a thread expressing your views on whether increasing the Minimum wage will help or hurt the economy. Then reply/comment to two fellow classmate's thread.
