One way is to find helpful websites that are being actively maintained and enhanced. For those that prefer to learn by experimenting, a "REPL" site is particularly useful. REPL was popularized by the programming language Python and stands for Read, Evaluate, Print, Loop. Essentially, it is a type of scratchpad that allows you to learn new languages by experimentation by providing a simplified development environment in the browser. There are many free sites that provide this functionality but two good ones are quackit.com and replit.com.
