ABC TAX PTY LTD is tax agency organisation that has 4 offices spread out of Victoria. Their central office is located in Melbourne CBD and there are 3 branches located in Geelong (West), Dandenong (East) and Echuca (North).
The company uses a legacy tax software that being used by the company for 5 years and it's already outdated. The software company is closed already and there's no available support and upgrades for the software. There branches are still using a manual file system that transmitted to the central office via post.
The owner of the company has decided to consolidate and interconnect all the offices. They are looking to purchase a complete customer relationship management and tax accounting software that will be used by the branches and central office.
The tax company hired your organisation to work in creating a complete IT solution. Your Manager asked you to lead the IT team to investigate and research to propose a solution to the Board of Directors of ABC TAX PTY LTD.
Company Information:
- Currently have 30 employees in central office and 5 employees on each branch.
- The company have 500 corporates and over 1000 individual clients.
The company is expected to double the amount of client by the end of the year.
- The company has an annual revenue of $1.5 million.
Requirements:
The CEO of ABC TAX PTY LTD requested your organisation to submit all the documents, recommendation and proposal. Below are your deliverables to the organisation.
- Network Technologies - IT equipment should allow network expandability in speed, size and capacity.
- Connectivity Requirement - The 3 branches should be connected to the central branch
- Software Technologies - Tax software should be cloud based solution
- Staff Access - All staff should be connected in one central domain
- Remote Access - Tax and sales agents can remote log-in in the server
Read and understand the above project task and perform the following tasks:
Tasks:
A. Identify information sources
- Determine information required according to project requirements
- Evaluate available information against project requirements
- Identify additional information sources based on evaluation of information
- Create a questionnaire to gather information from key stakeholders (questionnaire must include open and closed questions)
B. Gather data using different gathering techniques
- Review current organisational documentation and identify data required for project.
- List four ways to gather information from the stakeholders and gather information of ABC Tax.
- Review the gathered information and other data sources such as manuals and memos of ABC TAX.
- Find out the critical business factors of the company that will affect the business operation
C. Find an appropriate person (IT professional/Trainer/assessor) to confirm your finding regarding business-critical factors relating to current and future operation of the company. Analyse and review data according to company requirements
- Review and analyse the response of the client person (IT professional/Trainer/assessor) to have a clear idea of the priorities of the organization.
- Create a summary of report based on the data you have gathered for review according to organizational policy and procedure.
- Present the outcome of the report to the Board of Directors of the company.
