For your written assignment, you will think about mistaken and challenging behavior, but even more so, think about what you can do to help children learn to make good choices. You will problem solve behavior through creative storytelling.

• Start by choosing your characters for your story. You will need a child and a teacher.
• Next determine the age of the child and the setting in which your story will take place.
• Finally, choose a behavior that the child exhibits. Once you have the age of the child and the behavior, you will need to determine if the behavior is truly challenging behavior or if the behavior is appropriate based on what you know about child development for that age (mistaken behavior).
• Create a story about the child's behavior and the actions that the teacher takes to ultimately help the child overcome the behavior issue.
• Be creative in your storytelling and have fun, but also be sure to talk about teacher strategies for working with mistaken or challenging behaviors.
• Your story should have a title and be approximately 1 page in length.
