Parts of the work are to create a Solidworks design of the Rover depositing the balls in the Waste Bin. This is the smaller bin on the track.
Also there need to be renders as mentioned in part 2 only of the rover in the act of depositing the balls into the bin.
You just need to do the Solidworks files.
Preliminary CAD Models and Renders
1 - A zip file containing a folder named "SWARXX <Team Name> Warman CAD Assembly"This must be uploaded to Preliminary Submission box in the Major Project section.
In this folder should be your final assembly CAD file and all the parts required for this assembly. If you don't include the parts the assembly will not work. Use the "pack-and-go" feature in Solidworks.Your main assembly file should have "00" at the start of the name so it lists at the top and we get the right one. Please double check that this file unzips properly and your assembly still works and has all the part references maintained. Consider using colours or textures to differentiate parts and make it look realistic. The zip file should have the same name as the folder. You should include your team's accurate model of both sections of the track. We would like to see 3versionsof the device shown in this assembly. The first version should be shown in your chosen starting position within the start zone under the ROM Bin. The second versionof the device should be shown around the Waste Receival Bin, in the act of depositing any balls (preferably Waste), if you plan to do that. The third version of the device should be shown at a location around the Ore Receival Bin, in the act of depositing any balls (preferably Ore).
Each version of each device is best done as a separate sub-assembly which you can insert multiple times (and modify slightly if needed) in the master assembly (with the track). The final built device can and probably will differ from this design, there is no requirement to build exactly what you have drawn in CAD. Given your experience level, we would recommend you build and test early and then CAD the prototypes that result. Historically speaking they tend to be much different from your first guesses. Think carefully about how you might build your device and the materials and manufacturing limitations you will face. If you can anticipate these it will be easier to build.
2.
Using PhotoView360 rendering (an add-in in SW) generate 3 separateorthogonal views and 1 isometric view of yourDevice in EACH of the 3 configurations (start zone under ROM Bin, around the Waste Receival Bin and when you finish your run at the Ore Receival Bin).We need to see your device at these locations on the competition track. So at least 12 pictures.Compile these rendered images in Word or Powerpoint (preferred) document, with 1 image per page, and then save it as a PDF at decent resolution. They don't need to be aligned on the one page like in a 3rd angle projection. Then, please add any additional detail, zoomed in views you think are necessary to show important features of your design. The more of your design we can see clearly and easily, the more marks we will give you. Please try for the order requested for consistency. We will mark based mainly on the renders (quicker) and only inspect the actual CAD model if we have to,due to missed views or ambiguous design (slow and annoying). So ensure that the renders give us as much information as possible. Try to impress us. Use this as a great opportunity to rigorously assess the viability of your design. The more you have built and tested the easier this process will be. The best examples from 2013 have been posted to Moodle for you to review, and potential repurpose any common CAD models from.
