How to use Javascript to create a small animation with a sprite sheet in NetBeans (referencing an external Javascript file named framework.js)

Must have three componets:

Advance sprites, Start Animation, and Stop Animation buttons to let the users control it. Additional componets like allowing users to input some numbers to change the size of the screen, or adjust the speed of the animation. CAN NOT use JQuery to do it.
