Question: The experiment of clamping a long metal ruler against a table, changing the masses attached to the end of the ruler and pushing it down to create a simple harmonic motion. Would that comply with Hooke's law so that the formula of F=kx still applies so that you can predict the displacement of the ruler after a constant pull upwards of the ruler knowing the mass.
