This drawing challenges you to create a self-portrait from observation, not from a photograph, and create a drawing that demonstrates value and form.

Note: Address your portrait in the same manner as you did your still life - your face is just a compilation of shapes and different values, just as is any still life. Don't get anxious over it being a face. You'll notice that the steps are the exact same as those you used for your still life - only the subject has changed.

Assignment #2

The goal of this assignment is to make some longer sketches that combine skills of markmaking, line, and shape to create a value drawing that communicates form.
