The units in Engaging American History attempted to connect the study of American history to broader topics that might interest you: travel and tourism; business development; political divisions. Now that you have read a book about the American Civil War, now try being a professional historian and creating an educational unit based upon War is all Hell.

Based upon War is all Hell, come up with an idea for a educational program that would teach students about the Civil War.

Question 1. Come up with an overall theme (and it cannot be "evil").

Question 2. Find a "secondary source" scholarly article that speaks to your theme during the American Civil War. Provide the full citation.

Question 3. List primary sources from War is all Hell that could be used for students to investigate the theme. (3-5 sources) Provide the best citation you can for each one.

Question 4. Create a project or something that students would make that would connect the primary sources to the theme. Describe the project with one paragraph. What would students examine? What would they create?
