Instructions for a Website Evaluation Presentation:

I. Select a website related to nursing, studying for the NCLEX, or patient care for evaluation. The evaluation is of the website itself, not the subject matter contained in the website.

II. Determine the criteria categories to evaluate the website and define them clearly. You may use the Health Information Website Checklist found in Table 9-1 on page 154 of your text as an example. This checklist includes criteria such as:

1. Source
2. Authority
3. Funding
4. Validity and quality
5. Privacy and Disclosure

Feel free to include additional criteria in your evaluation, but make sure to explain the criteria you are using in your presentation.

I. Evaluate the chosen website based on the selected criteria categories.

II. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen website in relation to the criteria you have defined.

III. Create a presentation that thoroughly evaluates the website.

IV. Keep the presentation concise, consisting of no more than 8 or 9 slides.

V. Keep instructional design in mind as you create this presentation (see chapter 6 of your text, page 81)
