Step 1: Define the Business

Create a new slide and title it The Business.
Add a sentence to the slide that describes your start-up business idea and the value it will provide to customers.
In another sentence, describe the specific consumers, organizations, or businesses that your company will target.

Step 2: Create the Map

Create a new slide and title it Positioning Map.
Determine two dimensions, or aspects, of your product that you think will differentiate it from competitors. What sets your business idea apart?
For example, if your business idea is to manufacture car accessories, the two dimensions to consider might be design innovation and durability.
Using presentation software or other graphic design tools, draw and label the two axes, or dimensions, of your product.

Step 3: Plot Your Business

Plot where you believe your business falls on the axes.
Then plot all existing competitors on that map.
