PARENT TRAINING PLAN PAPER INSTRUCTIONS

You will review the current literature on sensory processing disorders (tactile, vestibular, proprioceptive, visual, and auditory) to develop strategies that parents can use with their children at home. Be sure to include the following elements:

1. Give a detailed description of each sensory/motor processing disorder; highlight how parents can recognize when their child may need a professional evaluation and diagnosis and how parents should best document their concerns.

2. Create a minimum of 5 family-friendly activities to support the development of each sensory disorder. (This will be a total of 25 activities.) Develop your own original activities to share with parents, aiming to reduce the cost as much as possible. Submit these activities as a bulleted list.

3. For each of the sensory/motor disorders, develop 3 strategies to addressand overcome challenges parents might face when a child in the home has the disorder. (This will be a total of 15 strategies.)Submit these strategies as a bulletedlist.

4. Suggest how parents can keep data on progress to determine intervention/strategy success.

5. Include a personal reflection response to your parent training. Discuss your personal opinion and beliefs about this parent training, what you foresee as being challenging for parents implementing this plan, and what you might do to further support parents to find success with your plan.

The plan must be 5-8 pages, not including the title and reference page, must be written in current APA format, and must include at least 3 references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. This means you will have at least 6 sources used within the paper and listed on the reference page.
