A small village in a rural area wants to create a micro-hydro project to augment their photovoltaic system. They want to tap into a creek, roughly 300 vertical feet above the village, to supply water to a storage tank. Assuming 40% system losses (penstock, turbine,generator), size the tank so that it can provide 20 kWh/day of electricity. Also determine the penstock flow rate needed to supply a peak demand of 15 kW. (Hint: see Solution Box 4.2)Submit calculations.
