Question: Now it's time to set your own SMART goal for your career. This should be a long-term, professional goal that you want to achieve at least 12 months in the future. You'll use this SMART goal in Assignment 3, which you'll learn about on the next page.
Your long-term goal doesn't have to be focused on the ultimate job you want to have. Rather, it can be something that will help you in your future field or industry. For example, if you'd like to run a large insurance company one day, your long-term goal probably won't be "Become the CEO of an insurance company." Instead, your goal should focus on the things that will help you achieve that dream job-for example, "I'd like to work in insurance and even run a large insurance company one day. My long-term goal is to obtain an entry-level position in the insurance field within six months of my graduation date in order to start learning the insurance business."
