DATABASE
You are the human resource manager of a small manufacturing organization. Using the EMPLOYEE file, you will perform four tasks using the ACCESS software package:
1. Add your name to the employee table. Your date of hire is the day you do this assignment. Your department is HRM. Your position is MGR. Make up the other data points.
2. Create a table called SUPRVISR:
DEPT SUPERVISOR OFFICE

SALES O'Linger, Kelli G-15
MAINT Frazier, John H-10
PROD Goins, A. W. J-10

Print out your table.
3. Print out the answer table for each of the following queries:
a. Using a query, create an answer table that contains all of your employee information.
b. Your company wants to encourage carpooling. Create an answer table listing employee name, city and street address (in that order) for employees who live in Crestline.
c. Create an answer table that lists all employees making more than $60,000. You should include salary, name, department and position (in that order)
d. HRM wants to train all supervisors and managers in the changes to the ERP system. Create a list of managers and supervisors. Your answer table should show name, department and position (in that order). Your list should be sorted by department.
e. Create an answer table that joins the EMPLOYEE and SUPRVISR tables. Your list should display name, date of hire, position and office (in that order). Sort the list by name.
4. The labor contract with the employee union stipulates that salary increases will be based solely on longevity in the organization. That is, employees receive a raise after six months, 12 months, 24 months, etc.. Merit (or performance) is NOT a factor in determining a raise.Recently, the union has accused management of playing favorites when administering pay raises. Study your company's wage increase practice and make a recommendation. Submit a brief report with computer printouts attached for documentation. The printouts should
show the reader the different database manipulations you have made to draw the conclusions made in your report.
Attach all printouts and reports using a staple. Include a copy of the database on a CD or DVD marked with IST 309, Asgn2 and your name.
