PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Introduction:

The project in the course is a comprehensive course-level assessment on various aspects of Web designing. The project comprises two parts-Project Part 1 and Project Part 2. You are required to submit Project Part 1 and Project Part 2 by the end of Weeks 4 and 6, respectively.

In Project Part 1, you are required to create a homepage and an online advertisement.

In Project Part 2, you are required to compile the designs created in Project Part 1 in a PDF and a Web portfolio.

The project requires you to assume the role of a Web designer, and design the homepage and an online advertisement for a hypothetical company. You are then required to create an e-mailer and a PDF and a Web portfolio for the company.

Course Objectives Tested:
1. Use Adobe Photoshop to create digital visual designs.
2. Create visual design pieces by applying design fundamentals.
3. Apply the Gestalt principle to create design pieces.
4. Use color to create effective visual design pieces.
5. Use type to communicate an effective message in visual designs.
6. Analyze different ways of solving problems, conceptualizing ideas, and expressing the ideas visually.

WebThrills is a new online games company. You are a Web designer who has been assigned the task to design the homepage and an online banner for the company. Keep in mind that the customers are young, in the age group of 18-30 years.

Official Portfolio
1. Design an e-mailer for WebThrills.

Tips: Study the e-mailers that you have received in the past from various companies, or subscribe to a couple of e-mailers of companies belonging to different businesses to get layout ideas.

2. Collect all your designs of Project Part 1 and Project Part 2 to create:
- A PDF portfolio
- A Web portfolio
