Choose a topic

The topic of your site can be any of your choosing. Pick something you have an active interest in, a hobby, a sport you play, a group or club you belong to, or any similar topic. Once you have selected your topic YOU MUST CONFIRM THIS WITH YOUR TUTOR. You will not be allowed to proceed with your topic of choice without tutor agreement. You may not change your topic without further consultation with your tutor.

You are required to style your web site, i.e. colour scheme, fonts, size of texts, and layout, then you are required to produce an alternative style as discussed below. The member of staff marking will ask you about the style you have chosen.

2. Alternative CSS Design
- For this assignment we want you to create a complete alternative CSS style, this would allow a client to choose between styles.

3. All pages for your site should be now available (at least 5), these
should be linked together so the tutor can navigate between them
(pages may not be complete)

4. CSS should be in a separate file, you should be clearly able to answer questions on CSS, HTML, class and ID usage.

5. If you have used Dreamweaver to produce this it will be a fail.
6. This should reflect 8 weeks work. Please submit a fully working website, keeping in mind the following points:

1. Your website must contain at least 5 pages.
2. Your HTML and CSS code must be appropriately formatted/indented, and suitably commented.
3. Your HTML and CSS code must be fully compliant (validators will be used to check this)
4. You should make extensive use of CSS (as taught in lecture) in order to fully separate your content from your presentation (external CSS used for page layout and presentation).

5. You must include the following:
a. A video clip using HTML5 tags
b. A table of data
c. A facility to send an email comment
d. A navigation Bar
6. You must include JavaScript within your web site.
7. If you have used Dreamweaver to produce this it will be a fail.
8. This should reflect 12 weeks work.

You are required to attend an in-class test that will cover all the material taught in the lectures.

The test will be made up of approximately 25 multiple-choice questions. Detailed instructions will be provided closer to the date; this includes a revision session during week 12.
