Writing Journal (AKA ePortfolio)

For the culminating activity for this course, you are to create a business writing portfolio containing at least five original business writing samples reflected in your learning during your time in this course. Your goal is to present a portfolio that represents your business writing abilities and insights into the business world around you. The length of each sample is up to you, but must represent concepts you have learned through the modules or their additional resources. Each writing sample must be your own work.

The writing pieces listed below are mandatory and must be submitted as part of your entire portfolio.

 When you are submitting your portfolio, you are submitting ONE portfolio, NOT five individual pieces. You may submit all 5 in one Word doc., your own blog site, or other creative way. Please ensure you clearly number or title each writing sample.

• Write a fun and friendly communication to students regarding the Volleyball Team BBQ/Fundraiser scenario presented in Module 2
• Write a formal goodwill response as though you are a representative from the garage door company using the Claim Letter scenario in Module 3 - The faulty installation of a garage door
• Write a proposal to the scenario presented in Module 5 - Proposal to Seneca College for the removal of dead trees
• Write a blog about How to Write a Blog using key points from Module 8 and additional research as needed.
• The other business writing sample should vary in subject matter, style and length (e.g. Cover Letter, Informational Letter, Thank You, etc.). It is important that you work with a variety of writing concepts/techniques in your portfolio.
