CPT code for Preoperative Diagnosis: Right lower lobe mass Postoperative Diagnosis: CT guided biopsy of right lower lung mass Procedure(s) Performed: CT guided lung biopsy The patient was positioned supine and an appropriate area of puncture was made over the lower portion of the chest. An appropriate area was cleansed and anesthetized with 3 ccs of 1% Xylocaine. An 18-gauge spring-loaded needle was inserted approximately 4 cm to the right of the midline into a 6 x 5 cm mass in the right base medially. Three cores of tissue were removed using the co-axial spring-loaded 18-gauge biopsy needle. No bleeding could be seen in the chest after the study and there was no pneumothorax identified. The patient received 1 mg of Versed intravenously for sedation. Signed Surgeon Signature 10021, 10004 X 2 32408 10005 10021.
