In the documentary there were multiple different perspectives which seemed to differ from country to country. From looking at India for example there was a big worry about overpopulation leading them to have a lot less resources to support the population. On the other hand Japan was having the opposite problem. Families were not having enough children which makes it hard to support the country's elderly population.
