John is a 30 year old, heterosexual, Caucasian man. He presented to therapy with symptoms of PTSD due to a car accident. His primary areas of difficulty were struggling with memories of the trauma when he was around trauma reminders (i.e. in cars, and at the location of the crash) and thus avoided them. In addition, he also strongly felt guilty because he survived the crash but other did not. He also was hypervigilant and always believed he was in danger when driving. You are nearing the completion of a course of Cognitive Processing Therapy with him (a CBT trauma focused treatment) and he has done well and shown many improvements.
