Nicole and Brendan Saunders moved from New Zealand to Gippsland in 2018. Since then they have expanded their herd, made production and profit gains, bought their own dairy farm, diversified and, to top it all off, become parents in the process. Dairy farmer Nicole and her husband Chris have gone from two to 15 employees, a 10-fold increase in turnover and expanded with leased properties. They also plan to open an on-farm cafe and pick-your-own strawberry operation next year. The couple took part in a farm management program run by Rabobank.
