Hello Dr. Greenia and Class,
The government plays a huge role in the health care organizations, health care systems, and even health care insurance (Rusa, 2016). This is because they make all the rules and laws that all health care systems and professionals have to follow. The government is always trying to find ways to make health care better for everyone. The government does need to make it so that all the insurance that go to the insurance go electric filed (Rusa, 2016). Right now all the claims go that electric and some go paper when they have to from billing centers.
If the government would make everything electronic the claims could go straight to the insurance companies and not have to go through a third party center (Rusa, 2016). This would help health care because they could use these employees in other places in health care. They could update all of the policies and systems that way everyone is on the same page. The government could update the systems and organizations and have all the equipment and systems up to date. The government could release more funding and this would help so that they could hire more employees and make the health care even bigger than it is now (Rusa, 2016).

Modernizing health care in the U.S. means less room for medical error, reduced cost for both patients and the organization, as well as, patient safety and satisfaction. Despite spending trillions on health care as the largest payer in the U.S., Americans are not receiving the health benefits that they should in this country. There are several ways that the government can lead efforts to health care modernization. The government can improve public resources, make technology the standard for enforcing better health care, update government health care programs, collaborate with other entities, as well as improve system efficiency (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, n.d.).
Utilizing electronic health records to store patient data reduces the risk of patient information being compromised or placed in the wrong hands. It is cost efficient and simple, while reducing the office space that would be needed to store all patient data. By collaborating with other entities, it creates a registry for specific health conditions and creates a standardized, evidence-based treatment plan that will be effective and reduce medical costs. Additionally, modernizing payment models helps to promote better quality of care and efficiency. By implementing just a few of these ideas to the health care system, it can create a system that is effective, efficient, and patient-friendly that will allow them to gain the benefits that they deserve and are necessary.
