Question

The cost of healthcare is not a popular topic among practitioners, but it is necessary. Cost-effectiveness and system effectiveness are considerations that must be incorporated into a nurse's daily practice. Reflecting on your clinical or simulation day, how did the "cost of healthcare" play a role in your experience? Did a patient express concern about not having the money to pay a medical bill or get their medication? Were there financial obstacles for the population or group you interacted with in accessing high-quality healthcare? Was your unit or area understaffed because of a lack of resources? How did this affect your ability to work as a nurse? What could be done differently?
