Correlation Does Not Mean Causation
A major misconception about correlation is that it implies a causal relationship between two variables. In other words, one may be tempted to conclude that one variable causes changes in the other variable which may not be valid. A strong tendency to make this causal error occurs when the two variables seem to be related to each other.
