Suppose that n tickets bear arbitrary numbers X1, X2,.............,Xn , which are not all the same. Suppose further that 2 of the tickets are selected at random without replacement. Show that the correlation coefficient p between the numbers appearing on the 2 tickets is equal to (-I)/(n - 1).
