Assignment Tasks:

Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) provides a wide array of programs for Federal Offenders across Canada.  The focus of your Research Assignment will be on the following:

• Three (3) CSC Institutional programs in Ontario
  • One (1) Maximum Security
  • One (1) Medium Security
  • One (1) Minimum Security
• Two (2) CSC Community-based programs in Ontario
  • One (1) for Male Offenders
  • One (1) for Female Offenders

For each program, you are to provide the following information

• Full name 
• Address and phone number
• Website (if applicable)
• Picture 
• Offender Profile
  • The type of offenders served by the program, 
  • Common characteristics of offenders, and 
  • Areas of need of offenders
• Services & Programming
  • Name and description of the Services & Programming offered to offenders
  • Offender profile of each Service & Program, and 
  • Criteria for accessing each Service & Program
• Safety & Security 
  • Methods to ensure offender safety
  • Methods to ensure employee safety 
  • Static security measure used by the Program
  • Dynamic security measures used by the Program
• Evaluation
  • What differentiates this program from similar programs? Provide two (2) examples
  • Do you believe the Program is successful in providing services to offenders? Cite one (1) source that provides evidence to support your opinion.
