Guidelines for Corporate News Sharing Presentation

Corporate News Sharing activity in 0501609 Strategic Management course is aimed at making students read and discuss the significant developments that are taking place in the corporate world within and across the UAE. To perform this activity one has to do the following:

Part 1. Find out an article published in leading business newspapers or magazines.

Part 2. Send the URL (the hyper link) to me. The article should be published recently (not very old, preferably within a month). Focus on articles that are covering a significant corporate event (like Strategic Initiatives by local or regional government, Mergers, Acquisitions, Change of Ownership, Major Diversification Initiatives by Multinational Companies, and like).

Part 3. If found suitable, I will allow you to go ahead and make a Power Point Presentation.

Part 4. Send this presentation to me and I will allocate you a time slot when you will make a presentation for five to seven minutes.

Part 5. In this presentation, you need to dig out background information about the company (or companies) involved and make the group understand the strategic management perspective in the article. You will score points out of 10.

Part 6. If the article, not found suitable, I will get back to you and you will do the process from Ito 5.

Part 7. After making the presentation, you will upload the PPT on the Moodle for my record.
