Coordinate integration of business ethics in human resource practices
Question 1:
Lucy, one of the tax officers, has been found under-reporting some tax transactions due to negligence. The investigation shows that she has not been following the auditing process, which requires her to double-check transactions before issuing the tax reports.
Your manager has decided to give Lucy another opportunity to rectify her underperformance.
However, since this a serious ethical behaviour issue, it must be addressed according to the
policy and procedure of the organisation. The policy requires that the HR officer (you) will
conduct a face-to-face conversation where the following points are addressed:
1. The ethical behaviour issue identified in Lucy.
2. Receive any comments or additional information from Lucy.
3. The presentation of a plan to rectify Lucy's underperformance with the underreporting of tax transactions.
4. A plan to ensure that the code of conduct is observed and its expectations are incorporated in Lucy's employee file.
