As human beings, we so ? metimes get what is called a fever, where your body temperature, normally 37°C or 98.6°F rises above this level. While a temperature of 38-39°C (100-103°F) is common and of little concern to doctors, a temperature above this becomes worrisome. A temperature of 41°C (106°F) is alarming and requires prompt action to control. An uncontrolled temperature of 42°C (108°F) is fatal. Death is preceded by convulsions and loss of consciousness. Individuals who survive often suffer brain damage. Temperatures of this severity can result from infection but are more common in adults as a result of what is called heat stroke or hyperthermia. A ten degree (10°F) rise is perilous.

On the other hand, there are many cases known of people whose body temperatures dropped many degrees below normal, usually from what is informally called exposure (being poorly protected in cold, wet, windy weather) but more formally named hypothermia. Some people have had their temperature fall to 60°F (almost forty degrees below normal) for hours yet ultimately recovered without serious consequence.

You have demonstrated a relation among enzymes, their activity, and temperature. Considering what we have seen, what might be the reason behind the observation that high fever is much more dangerous than a lowered body temperature, and why do you say this?
