The Billings Cooking Club also has a youth division for members 6 to 18 years of age. Shirley has a second workbook to store the information collected about these members. Shirley asks you to clean and format the data.
Complete the following:
1. Open the Youth workbook located in the ExcelA > Review folder included with your Data Files, and then save the workbook in Excel Workbook format as Youth Cooking in the location specified by your instructor.
2. In the Documentation worksheet, enter your name and the date.
3. In the Members worksheet, rename the table MembersTbl.
4. Insert a blank column to the left of column B to store the first name, and leave the last name in column A.
5. Use the Text to Columns command to split the Member column into two columns named Last Name and First Name. (Hint: You will have two delimiters-space and comma.)
6. In cell H1, enter Status as the column header. In cell H2, use the IF and LEFT functions to display the word Discard if the address begins with PO; otherwise, leave the cell blank. Copy the data in column H to the Clipboard, and then paste the values back over column H to remove the formulas.
7. In cell 11, enter Street as the column header. In cell 12, enter a formula to trim the extra spaces from the address. Copy the data in column Ito the Clipboard, and then paste the values back over column Ito remove the formulas.
8. In cell J1, enter Cty as the column header. In cell J2, enter a formula to convert the data in the City column to proper case. Copy the data in column J to the Clipboard, and then paste the values back over column J to remove the formulas.
9. In cell Kl, enter St as the column header. In column K, enter a formula to convert the data in the State column to uppercase. Copy the data in column K to the Clipboard, and then paste the values back over column K to remove the formulas.
10. In cell Ll, enter City State as the column header. In column L, combine the city and state data from columns J and K into one column using the format City, State.
11. Format the data in the Phone column (column F) with the Phone Number format.
12. You can now delete columns C (Address), D (City), and E (State).
13. Save the workbook, and then close it.
