Consumer product classes divide into four groups: (1) convenience, (2) shopping, (3) specialty, and (4) unsought. The athletic specialty distribution channel is a key channel for most of my clients because the targeted consumer is smaller. Keep in mind, each class is based on the way people buy products. Marketing managers want customers to see their products as specialty products and ask for them over and over again. Building that kind of relationship isn't easy. It means satisfying the customer every time, over time. Quintessential brands are known for getting their customers to purchase their products over and over again. Even when they aren't really needed. These brands have a formula which discover, develop, and have breakthrough marketing.

How do you select where to buy your products, is it based on convenience, brand, price value or a combination of these? Explain your position.
