Question

Dan is a 60 year old male has a history of HTN x10 years that is well controlled with medication. He works construction. He has managed over the past several months to decrease his smoking from 1 pack to just 1-3 cigarettes per day. He has smoked for 25 years. Dan was very proud of the fact that his recent physical showed no signs/symptoms of cardiopulmonary disease. However, his father died at age 60 years from a heart attack. Since he just turned 60 years a month ago, his father's death at the same age has weighed heavily on his mind. He wants to exercise and knows it is important, but working construction all day should be enough activity in his mind.
