In conclusion, Intravenous (IV) pumps play a critical role in nursing, providing precise control over the rate and duration of medication administration. However, they also present several challenges such as operational complexity, technical challenges, need for training, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, risk of infection and interference with patient comfort and mobility . Despite these challenges, IV pumps remain an indispensable tool in modern nursing. Efforts should be made to improve training, standardize equipment, manage alarms effectively, and maintain rigorous infection control protocols to mitigate these issues.
