Situation:

Brandon is a 40 years old marathon runner who has just completed a race in 35 degree heat. after crossing the finishing line, he complained of feeling unwell and appeared pale. He feels thirsty and that his urine appears concentrated and dark in colour.

Vital signs: Blood pressure is 100/60mmHg, Heart rate is 115bpm and respiration rate is 22 bpm.

Fluid status assessment: He is pale and cool to touch, reduced skin turgor and dry mucous membrane.

Questions:

Explain why Brandon is showing a low blood pressure (he is normally 130/70 mmHg) and his presentation of pallor, feeling thirsty and increased urine concentration that includes the relevant factors that affect a person's blood pressure and how these compromised to Brandon's body presentation.
