Assessment Task
Project 1- Contribute to Developing Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) Strategies and Policies
TASK SUMMARY:
Your assessor will observe you as you contribute to the development of employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) strategies and policies and risk management strategies.
Part A: Develop ER and IR strategies and policies
Use your workplace/organisation's template to complete this task, or use the ER and IR Strategies and Policies template provided at the Bounce Fitness site.
You will be assessed on your practical skills to:
• Consult at least two relevant stakeholders on the following:
Relevant stakeholders are individuals who understand ER and IR concerns and can contribute to the development of relevant policies and strategies. These can be internal or external to the organisation.
o Identify the following:
• At least two organisational strategic objectives
• At least two potential areas of conflict
• At least two objectives of relevant groups and individuals
• Develop at least one each of the following:
• Employee relation (ER) strategy
• Industrial relation (IR) strategy
• ER Policy
• IR Policy
• Ensure that the developed strategies and policies are:
• Consistent with the identified organisational strategic objectives
• Promoting absence of discrimination and harassment
• According to the identified objectives of relevant groups and individuals
Present information and opinions using language and non-verbal features appropriate to audience while consulting stakeholders.
Before starting this task, you must:
• Access and review workplace documentation and resources, including:
o Organisational strategic plans
o Organisational operational plans
o Sources with information on organisation's strategic objectives
o Organisation policies and procedures relevant to the following:
• Development of ER and IR strategies
• Discrimination
• Harassment
o Sources with information on objectives of relevant groups and individuals
Relevant groups and individuals refers to employees who are impacted by the ER and IR strategies and policies.
Part B: Develop Risk Management Strategies
Use your workplace/organisation's template to complete this task, or use the Risk Register template provided at the Bounce Fitness site.
You will be assessed on your practical skills to consult at least two relevant stakeholders to develop two risk management strategies - at least one risk management strategy for each risk identified.
The stakeholders will be same as in part A.
Before starting this task, you must:
• Access and review the organisational policies and procedures relevant to development of risk management strategies
• Identify at least two risks relevant to ER and IR.
ER and IR risks include any people, culture, or governance factor that causes uncertainty in the business environment that will adversely affect the company's operations.
• Identify the following for each risk identified:
o Risk description
o Likelihood of occurrence
o Degree of impact
o Risk priority
Review the following before starting this task:

These forms outline the following:
• Resources you are required to access to complete the task.
• All criteria your submission must address to satisfactorily complete this task.

You assessor will discuss these resources with you, and the criteria outlined in these forms prior to this assessment.
You must submit the following to your assessor:
• ER and IR strategies and policies
• Risk register
You must also submit the following as supplementary evidence:
• Organisational strategic plans
• Organisational operational plans
• Sources with information on organisation's strategic objectives
• Organisation policies and procedures relevant to the following:
o Development of ER and IR strategies
o Discrimination
o Harassment
o Development of risk management strategies
• Sources with information on objectives of relevant groups and individuals
• Risk rating matrix used for risk analysis
