1. Contrast transformational management with the boss (the guy with the twin points of hair) in Dilbert. How do the other Dilbert characters react to the boss? What should the boss do differently to gain their support? (A much harder question is, "Why doesn't he empower his workers?")
2. Define strategic protection. Why is it important? What can an HCO do to protect its funds? Its plant and equipment? Its associates? Its reputation?
3. Explain How do the needs of healthcare teams differ? Think about a primary care office or clinic, a surgery and surgical recovery unit, a rehabilitation unit, and a hospice. Will they all need a support team? How would a given kind of support team (e.g., a pharmacy team or a human resources management team) differ if it were serving only one of these or all of these entities?
