Your supervising OT has assigned you to work with Julio, a 56-year-old male admitted to the rehab hospital post-stroke. His stroke has limited his function of his right arm, which is his dominant arm. Your supervising OT has assigned you to the following treatment with Julio: · Assist Julio with ambulating with his 4WW · Complete the following activities-of-daily-living (ADLs) with Julio: o Upper extremity dressing including putting on and buttoning up his shirt o Putting on his shoes seated at the edge of his bed o Brushing his hair standing at the sink using counter for balance support o Brushing his teeth standing at the sink using counter for balance support You enter Julio's room to get consent for your treatment with him. This is what you say to Julio: "Hi Julio, I am an OTA. My supervising OT has asked me to come see you today for your treatment. For this treatment, we will be doing some walking with your walker, as well as some daily activities including dressing, brushing your hair, and brushing your teeth. The benefits of this treatment is to continue improving your independence with these activities in preparation for you to go home.
