1. In this course, we will cover trait, behavioral, contingency and integrative theories of leadership. As we go over these theories, I will encourage you to use your critical thinking skills to evaluate the practical implications of these theories. Please discuss below why leadership theories, in general, are helpful in developing our own skills of becoming better leaders.

2. According to Mintzberg, leaders perform 10 managerial roles to achieve organizational objectives. Leaders perform the interpersonal role when they act as figurehead, leader, and liaison. Leaders perform the informational role when they act as monitor, disseminator, and spokesperson. Leaders perform the decisional role when they act as entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator, and negotiator. I have worked with leaders that have been both effective and ineffective at carrying out these 10 roles. Please think about a leader you have worked with and tell me how this leader performed 3 out of the 10 managerial roles to achieve your organization's objectives.
