Irving Consumer Products is a manufacturer of sustainable products, with every process from the onset to completion being environmentally friendly. As such the new raw material that the company will be undertaking to manufacture new products is the bamboo poles, some common commodities produced from bamboos are reusable eco-friendly dishes, cutleries, toothbrushes, combs, and many other related products.

The total amount of financing that would be needed to undertake this new venture is $46,000 USD equivalent to $59,762 CAD. The bamboo supplier is Guadua Bamboo, based in Columbia, South America. According to their official website (Guadua Bamboo, 2022), they have 35 years plus of experience in the Bamboo industry and export this raw material worldwide.

Guadua sells their bamboo poles for USD $0.68 per kg, Irving Consumer Products would need approximately 50 tonnes of bamboo poles equivalent to 50,000 kg, the total cost therefore would be USD $34,000 equivalent to CAD $44,172.48. The remaining balance of CAD $15,589.52 would be utilized for carriage charges from Columbia to Canada via ocean, commodity insurance, and importation and documentation fees.
