Scenario You are a member of the construction management team for a construction company. Your company is entering into a partnering arrangement with a Housing Association. They will be using a supplier of a Modern Method of Construction (MMC) to undertake the works in various locations. This is part of their social housing development programme for the next three to five years. There are numerous providers of social housing and housing systems – please refer to the Additional Guidance section of this assignment. Task Your director has asked you to prepare a report for a meeting regarding the partnership with the Housing Association. Your report should contain the following: a. An evaluation of which of the following two roles would be most suitable as a single point of contact for all the various project sites: • Project Manager • Construction Manager. b. A critical evaluation of the benefits of adopting BIM (Building Information Modelling), to help the Housing Association understand whether BIM should be used for this MMC house building partnership. c. A summary of the potential risks caused by changes to the construction programme at each of the various sites. Include a critical appraisal of how management can overcome these risks.
